Having been twice involved in war I watch Iran and that war with skepticism. I am an old skeptic from “way back.” Vietnam was a war poorly conceived, badly managed, and eventually lost. That America is one I do not ever want to see again. Which is why I wish that Trump had been president instead of Johnson; after Kennedy was assassinated.
I was a sophomore in High school when it was announced that Kennedy was dead from an assassins bullets. I remember all the girls in the class crying and the teacher trying to hold it together. The boys were in shock as nobody ever dreamed of this happening.
However, it was Kennedy that got us involved in Vietnam after the French packed their bags and left. They lost also and were pretty much drummed out of Indochina, what Vietnam was called back then. From that point on none of this was our business. The excuse was that to fight in Vietnam was to stop China from taking over that area. They pretty much did anyway although it is now called Vietnam but is still communist with factories.
Now we have Iran that used to be called Persia and was one of the leading countries of the Middle East. Religious zealots run the government and ruin the country, kill their citizens and start wars with their neighbors. The Middle East is where civilization began as we know it today with Babylon being the focus for centuries. War after war is the designation of the Middle East since day one. Still, there were no nukes back then. There are now and the disposition of the leaders in Iran runs parallel to destruction nicely. Go Trump and America is all one can say while hoping for the best and fearing the worst as this is where the world ends as is captured in Revelations, the last book of the bible. The puzzle is fitting nicely together now isn’t it?
